Forum
The ne Forum zona is a small area centered around the Forum Shopping Center in the São Martinho parish of the Funchal municipality of Madeira. It’s arguably one of the most convenient areas you could pick with nice flat roads, anything you might ever want to shop for at your doorstep, direct buses that get you to the city center in 10 minutes, and proximity to the ocean and the lovely Promenade coastline path.
The Forum zona forms an intersection between urban convenience and coastal charm. The shopping center itself is hub for everyday life in the neighborhood. From groceries to clothing stores, cafes to pharmacies, everything you need is within walking distance with flat roads and pathways making it extremely walkable.
The streets around the shopping center can be busy but it’s not a buzzing nightlife area so evenings are pretty peaceful and homey. There is an abundance of great foodie options like unique cafes, bakeries and restaurants to enjoy.
The best feature may be that you're just a stroll from the oceanfront and the natural pools like Doca do Cavacas, Ponta Gorda and the expansive Praia Formosa plus the promenade is steps away so you can head out for a morning jog or stroll to Praia Formosa for a daily swim while soaking up stunning ocean views—especially sunset when the light is just right.
Another practical perk of the area are direct buses that whisk you into the city center in around 10-15 minutes so it’s easy to get around without needing a car. However, if you want to drive, the zona’s strategic location means you’re just a short drive away from the "Via Rapidas" that take you anywhere on the island.
This zona with its relatively modern condos is an excellent choice for anyone who wants an easy, low-maintenance lifestyle with a touch of Madeira’s coastal charm at your doorstep. You can even find "American amenities" in the modern condos like dishwashers, AC/heat and dryers (sorry, no garbage disposals yet). It's a great investment location and you can't beat the location.
