Near the main pool, there is a kiddie pool and a dedicated play area—making it convenient for families seeking a low-key atmosphere with younger kids.

The ocean access at Ponta Gorda is a highlight for those who enjoy the warm open water of the Atlantic. There are ladders and spots to jump in.

If you look out farther into the Atlantic, you’ll find a floating platform located a distance away from shore that would be appropriate only for confident swimmers. You'll either be alone and able to relax and enjoy the push and pull of the waves out in the Atlantic. Or you'll find a bunch of kids pushing each other off and making a racket.

In the pool area, if you get hungry or fancy a stiff drink, there’s a snack bar offering Madeira’s staple items—tostas, pregos, batidos, and of course a range of alcoholic drinks, the standard menu.

Ponta Gorda a nicely maintained public swimming complex with a little something for everyone. It has amenities like lounge chairs for rent, space to stretch out and really great, fresh orange juice to sip on.
